Naira ends the week strong, trades below N1,500

Exchange rate against the dollar recorded its highest of N1,470 on Monday and its lowest of 1,452 on Wednesday

The Naira maintained a threshold below N1,500 throughout the week till Saturday. The market opened the week with NFEM rate of N1,465.29 per dollar and ended Friday trading with N1,455.50.

Within the week, exchange rate against the dollar recorded its highest of N1,470 on Monday and its lowest of 1,452 on Wednesday.

At the parallel (black) market, naira continued to trade notably weaker against the dollar following relatively scarcity of physical dollar forcing down naira value to trade between ₦1,495 and ₦1,500 per dollar

On a general note, according to Wise, the value of US dollar has remained relatively stable over the past week, with a 0.135% increase compared to its value 7 days ago
