Every week, companies generate thousands of headlines. Some disappear within hours. Others become the story everyone is watching.

But which companies are actually dominating the business conversation?

That is the question behind the BuyerMetrics Enterprise Attention Index (BEAI), a new weekly measure from BuyerMetrics designed to track where enterprise attention is concentrated.

BEAI goes beyond counting news stories.

It combines five signals:

Component Weight
News Coverage 30%
Social Attention 25%
Google Search Interest 20%
Investor Attention 15%
Sentiment 10%

Together, these provide a broader picture of how strongly a company is capturing attention during a particular week.

Why attention matters

A company may dominate business media but generate little public search interest.

Another may have relatively few traditional news stories but become a major topic among investors and social-media users.

BEAI is designed to capture those differences.

It also separates attention from sentiment. A company can attract enormous attention because of positive developments, controversy, disappointing results or uncertainty.

That distinction matters.

What the first edition reveals

The maiden BEAI, covering the week ended 24 July 2026, produced a striking result.

SpaceX ranked first with a score of 88.3, followed by Nvidia at 57.2 and Amazon at 55.9.

SpaceX generated 196 observed stories across seven major international news organizations while also leading the social-attention assessment.

But Nvidia tells an even more interesting story.

It generated only 18 stories across the seven monitored news organizations, yet ranked second overall because of strong social, search and investor attention.

That is exactly the kind of difference BEAI is designed to reveal.

Attention is a business signal

At BuyerMetrics, we believe attention deserves to be monitored alongside other market signals.

A sudden increase in attention can accompany an earnings announcement, product launch, regulatory decision, acquisition, market move or major strategic development.

More importantly, sustained attention can reveal which companies are becoming increasingly relevant to investors, businesses and consumers.

BEAI does not claim that a high score means a company is more valuable or more profitable.

It measures attention, not corporate worth.

Its purpose is simpler:

To identify the companies commanding the strongest business attention each week, understand what is driving that attention and assess the direction of the conversation.

As the index develops, week-on-week data will allow BuyerMetrics to identify rising attention, declining attention, sudden attention spikes and companies where high attention is accompanied by increasing risk.
